Paranoid

Hello!!...I'm back..alive and kicking!...hehe...well anyway...I went to cyberjaya this morning with EON to attend talk on Cyber War..Hell its awesome!?..kinda..I'm not very much into this networking thingy actually..and I'm quite surprise that no networking people from the faculty is attending this talk, when in fact they should!..well for me..its just another food for my brain..which still has so much space to be filled...hehe

First speaker was from Pakistan and his name is Zubair Khan...he talked abouat Cyber warfare and all its happenings...he spoke about cyber war fare between Pakistan and India..which they are really not the very best of neighbours..I really mean it..also..cyber warfare between people in middle east and Israel...

Indian hackers managed to choke up Pakistanies internet flow for months...by hacking Pakistanies telcos servers and Pakistanis government websites...hmmm..I was just wandering if this happens between our country and our neighbours...and in fact it did happen when some hackers(or crackers perhaps) hacked into one of the local banks e-commerce website..but that doesnt mean that we are at war with our neighbouring countries...

The second speaker is from Italy and they talk about Industrial spy...err..leboh kurang la..well actually its about hacking for the purpose of gaining information from competitors in business...the most interesting part of their talk was when the speaker explain about US Future Combat System...actually they gain the information not from the people of the US army..but from google..the sub contractors websites and so on..well they are trying to say that 'secret' of the US FCS is not a secret anymore..and their enemy could have prepared on what they are building now..

The third speaker is from France..but worked in Indonesia for the last 10 years..he spoke about War driving(WD)..apa bende tu??..well this WD is about breaching into someones..or organisations or company computer system to gain information for profit purposes...well it focuses on wireless technology that we looked as a convenience way of doing our internet-related task - online banking, online shoppine anywhere at anytime..at any hotspots..but actually..it could be your worst nightmare!!..wireless technology are very much immature and are exposed to threats of hacking...imagine that your username..password..are stole right under your nose without knowing it??? Yes...wireless are not that secured...and the speaker did show how they can gain information of people doing transaction in Kuala Lumpur using wireless connection...hmmm..scary isn' it?...

A very knowledgable talk I should say...at least I know that something is not that secured actually..and careful what your doing when using wireless Internet connection
