Selangor 4 Pahang 1

Last night I went to Shah Alam Stadium to watch the FA Cup match between Pahang and Selangor...and it was I think the most anticipated clash in Malaysian Football this season. Pahang with its all-'star' player of local footballers has 3/4 of Malaysian national team...while Selangor with 3-4 national players..plus 2 new signing of Bambang and Elie Aiboy..both of 'em are Indonesian national players..adds up the foreign legion of the Selangor team, in which they already have an Argentinian Brian Fuentes, a last season's signing.
Arrived at the stadium at around 8.10 pm, which I saw thousands of fans were flocking to the stadiums, a scene that I never seen in the last 2 years. Last season the crowds at the Shah Alam Stadium were just like 2-3 thousands per match, but this time around, it nearly reached half of the 80,000 capacity stadium...around 35-40 ooo people!!
I saw alotta 'em wearing those red and yellow jersey, the pride of the Red Giant...in which some of 'em wearing the new jerseys. I also saw a number of the fans wearing that seasoned selangor jersey..warna merah kuning dah luntur2 dah hehe..maybe they haven't wear that jersey for so long that they've kept the jersey until its color has worn out....
Gone were the days that I could come to the stadium 5 minutes just before the match starts..js like last season...this time..it's a different atmosphere..the parking lot are jammed with cars lining up to enter to the stadium even when it was still 40 minutes before the game starts.
I actually anticipated a good match between 'em...especially from Pahang...with its status as a Super League team, they should've live to up to not just mine but to most of the fans' expectations...which they failed miserably. They lost tamely to Selangor 4-1. Funny thing is, they were not just lost...but was thrashed by selangor...they gave 2 soft goals...and their imports were bunch of craps!!...sorang mat saleh tua..sorang african yg pon tak boleh blahh!! I felt sorry for them...they should've recruited better imports next time...

Whitewashed....

Yeaapp..thats the word...whitewashed...I was tottaly whitewashed yesterday. There was a selection for the table tennis inter staff competition. The venue was this very faculty..and the staffs from the e-flip gabungan...which most of 'em are the library staffs. Damn their good!!...
They arranged a single matchup between our faculty players with theirs..as the team manager said..they wanted to know the level of play so that they can select who gonna represent the gabungan...I played the second single game..and it was against a kinda old and rather shorty pakcik...but I didnt look down or what not...but I expect he's the player...and I was so damn right...he was so good in swerving the balls in which I couldn't reply most of his serves...
Later on that afternoon..I played again with another library staff..but this time with a younger one...I lost again...even I gave some descent fight in the second set...it was a little too late. Then this one pakcik told to Kamal that we..the faculty players badly need a good table tennis bat...especially the rubber..it has to be a good one...for me..he maybe just being diplomatic...as they won all the matchups between this faculty and the library except kamal..
This time around, they deserve to represent the gabungan...as they really THE playerss..we are one or two(or maybe three) steps behind them...anyway..it doesn't make me feel so low tho..in fact it just motivates me to better my play..to play like them at least....
p/s : kengkadang semangat saja tak cukup...but please..ukur baju kat badan sendiri and kite tak boleh pikir pasal diri sendiri je....

'Seminar Islam Hadhari : Bioinformatik Sebagai Alat Dakwah'...Day Two

Day Two..

There were only 5 papers were presented today...but none of 'em interest me...except that...I thot I'm the only person who terhangguk-hangguk because of sleepy but...I found that many of the participants were already sleeping..and the funny thing was..those who were sleeping are the ustads ustads hehehe..

The seminar finished at around 1 pm....had my lunch at IKIM...fetched by abg pian with the big white faculty's van...arrived at the faculty around 2.30pm...

Today I felt pain all around my body...caused maybe by playin futsal last night...errgghhh...but still planning to play football this afternoon tho...gian dah lama tak main..

Anyway...after I went to IDEAL to sort the PJJ things out...I went to the Astaka to support faculty's women volleyball team...heard about their lost yesterday and some story about their game.....and heard from Kamal that they won't get into the semi final even with a win...nevertheless..still give 'em support tho...semangat kesukanan mesti ada!!...and they won..cayalah..well done gulzz!!...

Next 2 weeks...the mens volleyball will commence...and I could be playin..ahahah..volleyball's not my game tho..anyway..semangat kesukanan..belasah je..actually I'm hoping to play badminton for the inter staff game..but Kamal told me that there had been no news from the other member of the gabungan about the badminton...hmmmm...

Still gotta lot work to do...final project to mark..PJJ test this Sunday...LI visit and final exam questions..and the list goes on...

'Seminar Islam Hadhari : Bioinformatik Sebagai Alat Dakwah'...Day One

Today I went to a seminar called 'Seminar Islam Hadhari : Bioinformatik Sebagai Alat Dakwah'. It was held at IKIM at Jalan Duta...It was a 1 and a half day seminar..today and tommorow...I arrived at the faculty at 7.15am..that's very early alrite....and went to IKIM by faculty's big white van..I was accompied by Kak T...What had interest me to attend the seminar is..the bioinformatic research..how far does Malaysian has reached in this field..as well as its connection with Al-Quran and Sunnah...hmmm...should enlightened me alot this one seminar huh...well it did..
Arrived at IKIM at around 8.35am....what a wonderful architecture this place has...I was like being in an arabic country as its building shows the elements of islamic and morrocan architecture...then we first went to the registration.....trying to find my name at the participant list...should be there...since I already faxed my entry form last Monday...glad my name was there...hehe..kalau tak malu je...anyway..me and kak t then went to the seminar hall...
There were alot of Pak aji's and ustazahs (as they were wearing kopiahs and tudung labuh hehe)at the seminar hall....along with rupe-macam academician people..hehe..later I found out that the participants came from different kind of fields...ustads..ustazahs...academicians..medical doctors and even muftis...and they all came for one purpose...bioinformatics and dakwah...
There were 6 papers presented...prior to the paper presentations there was a short opening ceremony...oficially opened by the IKIM chairman...First paper presentation started at 10.30am...
The first paper was presented by a UPM Agrobio Director...he presented his paper on implications of bioinformatics on Islamic Dakwah...the he proposed a system where all the ulama' and bioinformatics expert can discuss on certain areas regarding deciding on matters like halal or haram...Anyway...the only paper that really really opened my mind and didnt make me feel sleepy was the 4th paper..which was presented by the President of Malaysian Islamic Medical Practitioners...what i like about his paper as well as his presentation was...he could relate some surahs in Al-Quran with the medical facts that he presented...he also relates some surahs with what he had encountered when he was in Acheh...giving medical services to the tsunamis victims...and some of his story about his experience there really made me feel how powerful and merficul Allah is...
One of the story was...he interviewed one of the survivor...who actually stayed in one of the mosque in Acheh when the giant tides hit...the survivor said..the tides was huge and very high..as high as a coconut tree...but..when the tides reached the mosque..it just split...it just went pass the mosque..it didnt hit the mosque..even a small crack no...and the survivor could look all the water and the things that the tides took along throuh the mosque window...he said..it feels like being in a aquarium...Subhanallah..
He also relates one surah in Al-Quran with the incidents that he encountered when he was in Acheh...where in the surah tells about the dooms day...pregnant mothers will had miscarriage and some people will looked like drunk but instead they are not...
Well he wanted to relate the dooms day with what had happen in Acheh..he said..it is sort of like a pre dooms day...in which he encountered those miscarriage women...they are dead with their babies came out of their wombs..and the drunk thingy was in fact..the moving earth(because of the earth quake and aftershocks which he also encountered when he was there) which made people terhoyong hayang mcm orang mabuk...
The presenter is not just good in medical field..but he also very good in arabic language as well as translating surahs into bahasa melayu....he's not that old tho..kinda 30ish of age...may Allah bless him...
Tommorow..there will be 4 more papers to be presented and I hope that it will give me more not just knowledge but also get to know more of kebesaran Allah SWT...I also hope that I have the strength to listen to all presentaton tommorow...hehe..coz some of the papers presented today did make me feel sleepy..luckily ada kak t kat seblah..malu sket nak tido heheh...

Escape from Alcatraz

It has been a hectic week for me as I am gearing up for next week's Worksyop on Java for Web Technology. Why was I so bz?...hmmm..well..thanx to the department's member...They unanimously decided to make me to conduct a seminar or course or workshop for my department..since I never conduct any ever since I worked here...hehe...
Initially I was scheduled to conduct a seminar on my research proposal on June...but during department's last meeting..I think they really2 wanted me to be in front of them in bilik seminar..so they decided me to conduct my seminar on january....hmmm..me dont think so..but..i js went silence..sape la aku ni...luckily there was a person who defended me by saying..."isshh mana sempat die nak prepare bulan satu ni..proposal phd die"..phewww..I thot I already escaped...I was totally wrong when one of them asked me, "Iskandar..awak tau Java?","Tau la sket2", I replied..."Java connect dgn database tau?", he asked me again..."err..tak tau laa Dr..", I answered. "Laaaa...takkan tak tau!!!"..lauded him. Then there was this suggestion about me mengajar java with database and web technology, eventho they already heard about my 'dont know' about java with database...they still agreed on making me to conduct a workshop in January...hmmm..
Glad to hear that Man Utd beaten Arsenal for the second time this season...ahahah...Yesterday morning..when I was on my way to the office..I listen to Hitz...and a Gunners' fan called...and told the DJs that Man Utd won through rough tactics...he even said..Man Utd didnt go for the ball...they'd just go for their opponents legs...ahahahah..sore loser!!...but the best thing is..when the two DJ said...the Gunners are no more Gunners...Goners should be their nick nowadays...akakaka...
This whole Java workshop thing has halted many of my daily and weekly programs...no pingpong or soccer in the afternoon for the whole week(luckily ada futsal)...I didnt watch the Man U vs Arsenal game...and I might miss Melaka vs Selangor game this Sunday...I already planned with my friend to go to Melaka on Sunday afternoon....hmmm...Luckily I have Mr K to help me out on setting and configuring the Comps in the Lab...but still I dont think I will make it to this Sunday's game...
Last Tuesday and Wednesday, I played futsal for the Gabungan of this faculty...lost all game tho..but...I managed to score a goal in 1-4 defeat against..err..I can't remember which team...header tuuu(well actually it just hit my shoulder and went straight into the net..hehe)..thanks to azri for the nice cross..
Just finishing writing and designing the handsout and modules...Hope that everything will be fine for the workshop next week...but I have to keep sayin to myself...silence is golden...
p/s : "mungkin aku memang patut kene mcm tuu...tapi tu laa..org lain tak bersalah..apa2 pon aku jugak..."
